After several blood tests, Xrays, and an ultrasound it was determined that Muldy likely ruptured his spleen and needed to have emergency surgery. He went in the next day. Prior to the surgery he had several blood transfusions including a live transfusion from a Doberman named "Nick". I got to meet Nick later that week while spending time with Muldy. He came through the surgery fine but they had a really hard time stabilizing his heart. He stayed at Willow Creek Pet Center until Friday that week. Here he is looking pretty good for everything he was going through:
Sadly the day Muldy came home I learned that the tumor on his spleen that ruptured tested positive for a very aggressive blood cancer called Hemangiosarcoma. I'm not going to list all the horrible statistics that go along with this type of cancer here. All you have to do is Google it and you will get a pretty good idea of his prognosis. We've chosen to proceed with Chemo as long as he continues to show that he wants to fight and he has a good quality of life. He's had 2 treatments so far and seems to be handling it well. I look at him everyday and am thankful that I've had 12 years and 9 months with him so far. I'll take whatever time we have together I can. Here's a picture the day I brought him home. Duggy obviosuly was out playing in the snow prior to us coming home:

The following week Junior League was having a fundraiser where you could have your picture taken with your "family". So me and my "family" headed to Memory Grove and captured these amazing memories:
